Reviewing and Accepting a Handshake

What is a Handshake?

When artists apply for your open date they send a Handshake. You review all applicants and accept the one that is the best fit. Only one artist can be accepted per open date.

Handshake statuses

AppliedArtist applied — waiting for your response.

AcceptedYou accepted this artist — waiting for Seal the Deal.

Under ReviewYou accepted another artist — this one is on hold.

ConfirmedSeal the Deal complete — booking locked in.

Opening FilledYou booked someone else — this artist was not selected.

ExpiredThe 48-hour Seal the Deal window passed without confirmation.

How to review applicants

1.Go to Handshakes in your venue nav.
2.Open date cards show all applicants grouped by date.
3.Review each artist's name, category, genres, location, and message if they included one.
4.Click their name or profile to see their full profile — photo, bio, and YouTube if enabled.
5.Click Accept when you have found the right fit.

After you accept

The accepted artist sees an Accepted status and knows to complete Seal the Deal. Other applicants see Under Review — they are not notified yet and remain on hold. Both you and the artist then have 48 hours to complete Seal the Deal to lock in the booking.

Note: You can only accept one artist per open date. Once Seal the Deal is completed, all other applicants are automatically notified that the date has been filled.
