Setting Your Market and Preferences

What is a market?

A market is a geographic area — Poulsbo/North Kitsap, Silverdale, and others as LynqWyre expands. Markets are the foundation of how LynqWyre works: everything you see on What's On, Events, and Discover is scoped to the markets you have selected.

Why markets matter

• •What's On — shows confirmed bookings, logged gigs, and community events in your markets.
• •Events — the full upcoming events list, also scoped to your markets.
• •Discover — artists and venues shown are those active in your selected markets.
• •Notifications — preference-matched notifications only fire for shows in your markets.

Setting your home market

Your home market is your primary area. It appears first in market selectors across the app.

1. 1.Go to Profile.
2. 2.Tap Preferences.
3. 3.Under Home Market, select the market closest to you.
4. 4.Tap Save.

Adding additional markets

If you live near more than one area or travel between markets regularly, you can add multiple markets to your profile.

1. 1.Go to Profile → Preferences.
2. 2.Under Markets, select any additional markets you want to follow.
3. 3.Tap Save.

Once added, you can switch between markets using the market selector on What's On, Events, and Discover without going back to your profile.

Category and genre preferences

Preferences tell LynqWyre what types of shows to surface for you — even from artists and venues you do not follow yet.

1. 1.Go to Profile → Preferences.
2. 2.Select the categories you enjoy — Musicians, Comedians, DJs, Trivia, and more.
3. 3.For each category, select the genres you prefer.
4. 4.Tap Save.

How preferences affect What's On

On the What's On feed, content is sorted by date. On the same day, shows from artists and venues you follow appear first. Below those, preference-matched shows appear — bookings in your market that match your saved category and genre preferences, even if you do not follow the artist or venue. Community events appear last on any given day.

Preference matching is how you discover shows from artists you have never heard of but will probably love.

Updating your preferences

Go to Profile → Preferences any time to update your home market, additional markets, categories, or genres. Changes take effect immediately on your next page load.
