What is a Handshake?

A Handshake is how you apply for a gig. One tap to apply. When a venue posts an open date, you send a Handshake to express your interest.

How it works: Send Handshake → Venue reviews → Venue accepts → Seal the Deal within 48 hrs → Booking confirmed → Followers notified.

Finding open dates

Go to your artist dashboard. Open dates in your market appear in your feed. Review the details — date, time, act type, pay, and any notes from the venue — and decide if it is a good fit before applying.

Sending a Handshake

1.Tap Send Handshake on an open date listing.
2.Add an optional message — recommended, it helps you stand out.
3.Confirm and send.

Tracking your status

AppliedYour Handshake was sent. Waiting for the venue to review.

AcceptedThe venue accepted you. Complete Seal the Deal within 48 hours to confirm.

Under ReviewThe venue accepted another applicant. You are on hold in case it falls through.

ConfirmedSeal the Deal is complete. The booking is confirmed.

Opening FilledThe venue booked someone else. This date is no longer available.

ExpiredThe 48-hour Seal the Deal window passed without confirmation.

Seal the Deal

Once a venue accepts your Handshake, both parties have 48 hours to complete Seal the Deal. This final step locks in the booking. Once confirmed, every audience member following you or the venue — or whose category and genre preferences match the booking — receives a Just Got Lynqd notification instantly.

Once your booking is confirmed, a Send Reminder button appears on your booking card. Use it to send a message to all your followers about the upcoming show. See Messaging Your Followers for details.

Note: Lynqd audience members receive an automatic same-day morning reminder for every confirmed show — you do not need to send a manual reminder the day before. Use Send Reminder strategically — a few days before the show to build excitement, or to share specific details like parking, dress code, or a special guest.

Beta: Handshakes are unlimited during beta. After beta, the free tier includes 3 Handshakes per month.
